At AAA | Bob Sumerel Tire & Service, we stock a wide selection of wheels for customers in Cincinnati, OH, Dayton, OH, Middletown, OH, and surrounding areas.
What’s the deal with wheels? Purchasing new wheels for your vehicle can give it a whole new look—sharp, sophisticated, edgy, stylish, or chill. But new wheels can also change how your vehicle functions. When you talk to your certified technician let them know if you want any performance changes—perhaps better acceleration and cornering, a smoother ride, or all-terrain toughness from your new set of wheels.
When you’re shopping, you’ll find both alloy wheels and steel wheels. Steel wheels are considered basic; the metal is relatively inexpensive and easy to work into various shapes. Made of a mixture of aluminum and magnesium (sometimes called “mag wheels”), alloy wheels are stronger and lighter than steel. Because alloy wheels are lighter, they accelerate faster and stop faster, too. Alloy wheels also conduct less heat so your tires stay cooler and last longer. Alloy wheels, however, tend to crack or break more easily than steel wheels.
You can choose between steel wheels or alloy wheels based on expense, performance, and appearance. Your certified technician will make sure you choose only wheels that meet your exact fitment and performance requirements. They’ll make sure there’s plenty of brake clearance and will allow for your car’s technology such as maintaining accurate speedometer and odometer readings in any wheels you choose.
Talk to your certified technician. We can help you get the look and the performance you want whether you choose sturdy steel wheels or stylish alloy wheels.
