Rear Disc Brake Repair

Approx. Time: 120 Minutes | Price Range: Get Quote for Price

Disc brakes consist of two flat pads that mount inside a large caliper. These are the disc brake pads, which are flat metal plates with a soft friction material riveted to them. The caliper bolts to the car’s suspension. A flat disc, or rotor, bolts to the wheel. When you press the brake pedal, the caliper presses against the brake pads, which squeeze the rotor between them. This creates the friction to slow the wheel.

When the disc brakes on your car begin to go, the warning light should come on. In the absence of a warning light, you could hear squeaking when you step on the brakes or your brakes could feel “soft” and not as effective when you use them. If you keep up with regular maintenance on your vehicle, chances are your technician will notice that you need a rear disc brake repair long before you will notice any signs.

When your certified technician tells you your vehicle needs a rear disc brake repair, they’ll repair or replace your brake shoes or brake pads. Schedule your rear disc brake repair promptly so your disc will last longer and you can drive safely and stop reliably.
