Axle, CV Joint, Driveshaft Repair

The axle, CV joint, and driveshaft all work together so your car can be driven. The underside of your car is set up with a central shaft (the driveshaft) running from the engine to two axles—one for the front wheels and one for the back wheels. The driveshaft transmits torque and rotation to the axles, attached by CV joints, sending power to the wheels.

If the axle, CV joint, or driveshaft begins to wear out, you will feel vibrations while driving. You could hear clicking when you speed up. Or, your certified technician may notice grease on the wheel or cracking and splitting of the boot that protects the CV joint. If you experience any of these signs of a bad axle, CV joint, or driveshaft—or if your certified technician sees signs of damage, set up an appointment as soon as possible. An axle, CV joint, or driveshaft repair will save money in the long run and help you drive away safely.
