Shocks, or shock absorbers, dampen the impact of bumps in the road. When you need to have one or more of your shocks replaced you will probably know it. A shock absorber is a hydraulic device, with a large piston and cylinder inside. Hydraulic fluid is channeled through a series of small openings to cushion and reduce the bounce. This helps improve the car’s ride and handling.
